Social Media Marketing Plan

Gettysburg Area Dollars For Scholars Internship

During my 12-week marketing internship with Destination Gettysburg, I compiled a comprehensive portfolio showcasing my contributions and accomplishments. My primary focus was assisting in the launch of a marketing campaign for the new Black History Trail in Gettysburg. This involved crafting a newsletter and press release, developing engaging social media content, and monitoring campaign performance. Throughout the process, I gained hands-on experience with Google Analytics, allowing me to track engagement and measure the campaign’s impact. Additionally, I strengthened my skills in content creation, public relations, and digital strategy while collaborating with a dynamic marketing team.

Junior year, I worked with a team of 5 others to develop an Integrated Marketing Communications Plan for Rockingham Educational Foundation Inc., intending to increase their revenue by $42,000 from July 2024 to June 2025, using a $20,000 budget. My team and I selected key marketing channels and created tailored strategies for each to meet our objectives. This gave me valuable experience in working with a team and a client, as well as making marketing-driven decisions. After presenting our plan, we were recognized for having the most creative ideas out of 18 teams! It was incredibly rewarding to see our hard work pay off.

Senior year, in my Social Media Marketing class, my team of two others and I developed a comprehensive Social Media Marketing Plan for Bouquets & Bustles, a local wedding planner. Given five business and marketing goals by the client, we designed three targeted campaigns, created engaging content, developed evergreen posts, and conducted in-depth social media audits. Additionally, we built a strategic content calendar to ensure consistent and effective messaging across platforms. Our plan aimed to enhance brand awareness, increase engagement, and drive client inquiries through a well-rounded social media strategy.

In 2023, I completed a remote, unpaid internship with Gettysburg Area Dollars for Scholars, where I focused on social media content creation, primarily for Instagram. My goal was to drive conversions and strengthen the organization’s brand image by targeting two key audiences: graduating high school seniors and community members willing to donate. By tailoring content to high school seniors, I provided guidance on the scholarship application process, making it more accessible and encouraging submissions. Additionally, I developed posts aimed at engaging donors, highlighting the impact of their contributions, and reinforcing the organization's mission.

In my Marketing Analytics class, my team and I conducted in-depth research on how demographics influence soda and soda alternative purchasing habits. We designed a survey and used SPSS and SPSS Modeler to run statistical tests, including regressions, CHAID analysis, and correlation tests. By developing a priori hypotheses and conducting post-hoc exploratory tests, we identified key consumer trends, providing insights that could help businesses refine their marketing strategies and product positioning.

COB 300 is an integrated business course that covers finance, marketing, operations, and management and is open only to students who have achieved a 2.7 GPA or higher in the business prerequisite courses. In this course, teams are tasked with creating a comprehensive business plan for a new product. My team developed the concept of a water bottle cap with a built-in UV sterilizer to kill bacteria and sanitize the bottle. The plan includes key elements such as market research, financial projections, operational strategies, and marketing tactics, all designed to ensure the product’s successful launch and long-term viability. This hands-on experience offers valuable insights into applying business concepts and collaborating effectively within a team.
